About the role
As the Ranger Team Leader, you will lead a team of staff to deliver high quality park management and services. You will work as a key member of the Southern Mallee Operations team in delivering on-ground services. Your position will monitor work practices and with support from the Area Chief Ranger and ensure compliance with relevant specifications such as Parks Victoria's policies and procedures. You will demonstrate a strong personal work ethic for team members to follow and ensure that District employees maintain a high standard of personal accountability and compliance with the Code of Conduct.
You will be responsible for guiding the team, to inspire enthusiasm, to ensure their safety and welfare and to ensure they are appreciated for their efforts. The position is responsible for ‘hands on' people management which includes leading, managing and developing the team which may include ongoing employees, contractors, casuals, temporary staff and/or volunteers.
We're looking for someone with:
- Demonstrated experience in self-management and supervisory skills
- Demonstrated experience in customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in practical hands-on work
- Experience and knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- A knowledge of, and demonstrated experience in the management of Parks
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team
