About the role
As Ranger Team Leader (Horticulture) of the eight Dandenong Ranges Gardens properties, you will lead a team of staff to deliver high quality services in line with the Regional Operations Plan. The position will work as a key member of the Area or Functional team in delivering on-ground services.
You will demonstrate a strong personal work ethic for team members to follow and ensure that District employees maintain a high standard of personal accountability and compliance with the Code of Conduct. Ranger Team Leaders are responsible for guiding the team, to inspire enthusiasm, to ensure their safety and welfare and to ensure they are appreciated for their efforts.
We're looking for someone with:
- Certificate, Diploma or Tertiary qualification in Horticulture and/or equivalent experience in a similar field
- Demonstrated experience in the management of public gardens and botanic collections
- Extensive experience in leadership, performance management and managing a team day to day
- Strong customer service focus both internally and externally
- Track record in dealing with external stakeholders on a range of land management issues
