Primary objective
The provision of confidential personal assistance and administrative support to the Officer in Charge and the police
members of the East Arnhem District.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide a professional and confidential executive support function to the OIC of Nhulunbuy Police Station and the police
members operating in the East Arnhem District to ensure regional objectives are met.
2. Oversee Regional correspondence and the Northern Division sub registry.
3. Maintain liaison with Government Departments and Agencies regarding a wide range of administrative functions including
actioning Minor New Works, Urgent Minor Repairs to Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services facilities and
housing.
4. Supervise and administer the Fleet database for East Arnhem District vehicles and payment of accounts.
5. Supervise and administer management of accounts for the Northern Division including payments by corporate credit card.
6. Arrange meetings and conferences and provide minute taking and secretariat functions as required.
7. Assist in the recruitment of NT Public Sector staff for Northern Command as required.
Selection criteria
1. Proven ability to communicate effectively, interact and negotiate; possess a comprehensive understanding of client
service and the provision of a professional interface with other agencies and members of the public.
2. Proven, well-developed ability to manage information and data including the use of various processing and spreadsheet
software packages.
3. Exceptional organisational skills including the ability to quickly adapt to changing tasks and priorities, work under
pressure and meet deadlines.
4. Sound knowledge of procurement guidelines and the ability to record and process accounts payable.
5. Sound knowledge of Equity and Diversity and Work Health and Safety issues.
6. Proven ability to work as part of a team and work flexible or extended hours, with minimal supervision, when required.
Desirable
1. Understanding of NTPFES process and procedures.
2. Experience using records management systems such as Content Manager.
