About Us

At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.

About the Role

With a dedicated Assistant Manager, you’ll manage a portfolio of small and medium-sized businesses, connecting with passionate business owners across a range of industries. By developing and maintaining a detailed understanding of their business and financial needs, you’ll drive growth through acquisition, increasing share of wallet and referrals. And you’ll have great insights and data to help you do this, thanks to investment in new systems and technologies.

You’ll develop valuable technical expertise as you collaborate with product partners and other ANZ stakeholders to design, structure and execute deals. And you’ll be backed by a supportive, results-driven leadership team to learn from and guide you.

This is a great opportunity to take the next step in your business banking career, setting yourself up for the many pathways within our commercial division or into other areas of ANZ.

Role Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Providing customers with appropriate solutions by understanding their needs

Structuring deals in conjunction with relevant product and specialist teams
Proactively managing credit and operational risks
Applying Relationship Credit Approval Discretion as appropriate.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

Ability to build long-term customer relationships and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
Strong understanding of commercial mid-market banking products
Ability to understand customers business needs and offer tailored solutions
Experience assessing, advising, monitoring and/or approving a customer's credit worthiness and credit risk and suitable credit structuring options
Ability to negotiate terms and conditions of credit facilities and other banking products to suit the customers business goals
Strong commercial acumen and ability to drive efficiency and create long-term value.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements, risk management principles and how to mitigate risks.

You’re not expected to have 100% of these skills. At ANZ a growth mindset is at the heart of our culture, so if you have most of these things in your toolbox, we’d love to hear from you.

So why join us?

From the moment you join ANZ, you'll be doing meaningful work that will shape a world where people and communities thrive.

But it's not just our customers who'll feel your impact. You'll feel it too. Because at ANZ, you'll have the resources, opportunities, and support you need to take the next big step in your career.

We're a diverse bunch at ANZ in different roles, different locations, doing different things. That's why we have a range of flexible working arrangements, so our people can 'make work, work for them'. We also provide a range of benefits including access to health and wellbeing services and discounts on selected products and services from ANZ and more.

At ANZ, you'll be part of an organisation where the different backgrounds, perspectives and life experiences of our people are celebrated. We welcome applications from everyone and encourage you to talk to us about any adjustments you may require to our recruitment process or the role itself.
