The Star Brisbane is Australia’s newest entertainment hub at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct. The first phase is now open, with more venues and experiences on the way. The Star Brisbane offers a variety of new dining, bars, and unique entertainment options. It also includes a five-star luxury hotel, The Star Grand, and a state-of-the-art Event Centre.

The Risk, Reporting & Governance Analyst reports directly to the Head of Risk, Reporting & Governance and plays a key role in supporting business operations as a part of the first-line risk and compliance function. The role assists in identifying, documenting, and monitoring operational risks, aiding the delivery of internal reporting through the governance structure, and facilitating committees with the governance structure of The Star Brisbane.

A few of your responsibilities:

  • Assist and document operational risks in line with the Risk Management Framework, policies, ICMs and SOPs
  • Engaging with stakeholders to facilitate accurate and thorough internal reporting
  • Facilitating the effective and timely operation of committees at The Star Brisbane
  • Assist in implementing processes to support compliance with state and federal regulations, including Gaming, AML/CTF, and Safer Gambling obligations
  • Contribute to strengthening risk culture and awareness, supporting control activities, and assisting in providing risk and compliance guidance to operational teams.
  • Help maintain records and documentation related to risk assessments, compliance breaches, and incidents.

What we are looking for:

  • A qualification in Law, Business or Commerce
  • Basic analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good organisation and time management skills, with the ability to support multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow structured processes and procedures and the willingness to learn and develop casino operations and regulatory knowledge

About you:

To succeed in this position, you’ll need strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate with stakeholders through formal reporting and interactions. Prior experience in risk management or a regulated industry is highly desirable.
