About the Role
As a Global Truck Portfolio and Vehicle Line Strategy Manager, reporting directly to Global Product and Cycle Planning Director and leading the Global Truck Planning Team and a broader cross-functional team, you will be at the forefront of shaping and executing the strategic direction for our global truck lineup. This role is based on a hybrid arrangement, requiring four (4) days per week in our International Markets Group Product Development office in Broadmeadows.
This pivotal role involves defining "Where to Play" and "How to Win" strategies, leading the comprehensive Cycle Plan process and related studies, and developing robust business cases for both cycle plan initiatives and critical program milestones.
You will spearhead high-priority studies for the truck segment, manage program gateways across all planning phases, and ensure seamless global and business unit alignment through close collaboration with other vehicle segments and regional teams. A core focus will be to drive efficiencies through a relentless customer focus and complexity reduction. Furthermore, you will be instrumental in cultivating a collaborative, high-performing, and customer-focused cross-functional team that champions Ford Leadership Behaviours.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Execute Global Strategies: Drive the global truck portfolio and vehicle line strategies, crafting "Where to Play" and executing "How to Win" approaches.
- Lead Cycle Plan Management: Oversee the entire Cycle Plan process and studies for the vehicle segment, ensuring alignment with stakeholder priorities.
- Develop Robust Business Cases: Lead the creation of comprehensive business cases for both cycle plan studies and key program milestones.
- Manage High-Priority Studies: Spearhead high-priority studies for the product segment and contribute insights to related enterprise or propulsion studies.
- Guide Program Gateways: Lead products within the segment through all planning milestones and program gateways.
- Ensure Global & Regional Alignment: Collaborate extensively with other vehicle segments and regional teams to achieve global and business unit strategic alignment and product priorities.
- Optimize Program Efficiency: Drive efficiencies in segment programs through a strong customer focus and complexity reduction initiatives.
- Cultivate High-Performing Teams: Develop and manage assigned planning and strategy resources, fostering a collaborative, customer-focused, cross-functional, and high-performing team that champions Ford OS Behaviors
About You
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent is a minimum requirement.
- MBA/MS in Engineering Management or equivalent is preferred.
- Proven strategic thinker with experience developing and effectively communicating strategic direction.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence complex cross-functional teams.
- Strong financial acumen, specifically for business case development.
- Extensive experience leading cycle plan studies and complex product gateways.
- Familiarity with vehicle and platform architecture development processes, including balancing technical and business considerations.
- Deep understanding of Product Development Processes and deliverables.
- Familiarity with Human-Centered Design principles and a demonstrated passion for the customer.
- Demonstrated excellence in both oral and written communication.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Strong desire to deliver results in a fast-paced environment, working effectively with all employee levels, from technical personnel to Senior Management.
