Position Title: Skid-Steer Operator
Location: Various Solar Farm Sites, Australia

Reports To: Site Supervisor / Mechanical Foreman
Working Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM Saturdays
Position Summary:
The Skid Steer Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a skid steer to support mechanical structure installation on utility-scale solar farm projects. This role includes transporting and positioning steel posts, torque tubes, panels, and other materials across the construction site in accordance with project requirements and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate skid steer to lift, move, and place structural components including steel posts, racking systems, and solar modules.
- Assist the mechanical installation crew by staging and distributing materials to designated installation areas.
- Conduct daily pre-start checks and routine maintenance of the skid steer.
- Adhere to site safety procedures, traffic management plans, and environmental requirements.
- Support general site duties as required, including ground crew tasks when not operating machinery.
- Report mechanical faults, safety hazards, and incidents to the Site Supervisor.
- White Card (Construction Induction Card) & Skid Steer Ticket
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating telehandlers on civil or solar projects.
- Strong understanding of load handling, lifting operations, and machine limits.
- Ability to work in remote locations and outdoor environments.
- Commitment to safety, teamwork, and productivity.
