About the Role
You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH). The Sterilising and Theatre Coordinator will ensure the smooth functioning of the Central Sterilising Services Department by:
- Ensuring equipment is being processed and turned around in a timely manner to the operating theatres, wards and specialty clinics
- Ensuring patient safety is maintained.
- Maintaining the high standards necessary with reprocessing decontamination, high level disinfection, sterilisation and storage of reusable medical equipment.
- Supervising staff to ensure compliance with AS4187:2014, infection control guidelines and Gastroenterological Nurses College of Australia (GENCA) guidelines.

Ideal Candidate
- Holds a Certificate III in Sterilisation Technology.
- Extensive experience in hospital sterilisation including a comprehensive knowledge of all theatre, ward and endoscopy reusable medical devices.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of AS/NZ 4187:2014, infection prevention and GENCA guidelines.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a leadership role preferred.
