About the Role
The Adelaide-based Logistics team is responsible for managing Copper South Australia FIFO travel and accommodation across our Mining Operations in South Australia.
The Supervisor will report to Logistics Superintendent and plays a major role in ensuring the effectiveness and consistency of our busy dynamic operation to support the wider BHP business.
The key focus of the role:
- Supervision of a team (3-5 people) that coordinates travel and accommodation arrangements for a primarily fly-in-fly-out (FIFO) workforce. This includes ensuring team members are adequately trained and have the correct tools to be able to consistently perform at a high level.
- Oversee and support the team’s daily activities as well as their ongoing engagement through regular 1:1 meetings and individual development plans.
- Monitor team performance and ensure the provision of quality customer service to all stakeholders.
- Balancing flight requirements (e.g. block bookings vs individual) to optimise budget and drive high utilisation.
- Manage and implement the Company’s travel and accommodation policies and guidelines
- Manage third-party accommodation requirements in accordance with Company policies and guidelines.
- Streamline People Logistics processes, ensuring the consistent application and/or improvement of processes including system enhancements.
- Manage accommodation constraints through prioritisation and appropriate utilisation of assets (FIFO villages).
- Assist in managing and communicating flight delays and unplanned events to minimize workforce disruptions.
- Act as an escalation point for issues and/or complaints related to travel and accommodation arrangements.
About You
As a successful candidate you will possess the following:
- It is mandatory that you will have supervisory in your current and/or previous roles.
- Strong knowledge of the resource industry and exposure to FIFO travel and accommodation processes.
- Good knowledge of SAM/ Workflow system will be highly desirable but not mandatory.
- Exposure to other logistics management systems within similar industries will be an advantage.
- High customer focus and the ability to work under pressure is necessary,
- Ability to adapt to change effortlessly and cope well in a high-paced dynamic environment.
- Self-motivator who can drive performance and excellence from your direct reports whilst also providing a safe and collaborative work environment where inclusion and culture are of the utmost importance.
Location
In this permanent full-time position with a Monday-Friday roster, you will be based in Adelaide, South Australia Export Park or Franklin Street.
