Position: Support Manager, Disability Services

Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and supervision to support staff, including hiring, training, rostering, and performance management.
- Assess client needs and assist them to plan for and access education and training programmes and any additional health and welfare options.
- Support the development and implementation of individualised support plans for clients, focusing on promoting independence, community inclusion, and quality of life.
- Coordinate and oversee the delivery of support services, including personal care, meal preparation, medication management, and household tasks.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and standards, including the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Practice Standards.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment within the house, promoting the rights, dignity, and autonomy of our clients.
- Act as a liaison between clients, their families, support coordinators, and external service providers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Actively adapts, accepts and is willing to change within the context of the job role and wider organisation or community changes.
- Implement and monitor health and safety procedures, including emergency response protocols and infection control measures.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to client care, employee performance, and household operations.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance knowledge andskills in disability support practices.
- Monitor and manage budget and KPI’s to support long term financial viability, organisational goals and quality standards
- On-call duties.
- NDIS reporting including to panel applications and reviews
- Fill in for support work shifts as needed, including providing direct care and support to clients, ensuring continuity of care and service delivery in the absence of assigned support staff.
Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role within the disability sector, preferably in Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Community settings.
Skills & Competencies
- Leadership: Strong ability to motivate and support staff in delivering exceptional client care.
- Client-Centered Approach: Skilled in understanding and addressing the unique needs of clients with disabilities.
- Communication: Effective verbal and written skills for engaging with clients, families, and teams.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve issues with a client-focused approach.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with disability service legislation, including NDIS and SCHADS award.
- Technology: Proficient in Microsoft Office, client management systems, and data entry.
Desirable
- Certificate IV in Disability
- Diploma in Community Services
- Leadership & Management Certification
