As the Responsibility Officer for VRG GRL, you will be responsible for supporting and driving our company’s responsibility efforts. You will be someone that is passionate about sustainability and will help us manage sustainability projects, engage with our team on environmental practices, and assist with our efforts to reduce waste and energy use, aligning with the company's goals and industry standards.
This is a part time position working up to 3 days per week (24 hours) from our Newstead HQ.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute Sustainability goals: Create, implement, and oversee comprehensive plans aligned with the company's responsibility goals focusing on our key pillars of product, planet and people.
Reporting: Report and document the execution of responsibility goals ensuring all policies and procedures are updated and information is shared with all stakeholders including, staff, customers and suppliers.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders—including employees, customers, and community groups—to foster support for sustainability initiatives. Represent the organisation at industry events and engage with sustainability networks.
Sustainable Procurement: Work with the procurement team to source materials and services that align with sustainability goals, evaluating vendors based on their environmental impact and social responsibility.
Data Analysis and Performance Tracking: Collect and analyse data related to energy usage, carbon emissions, and other sustainability metrics. Use insights to adjust strategies and track progress toward goals.
Innovation in Sustainability Initiatives: Identify opportunities for new or enhanced initiatives in areas such as renewable energy, waste reduction, and social responsibility.
Budget Management: Manage budgets for sustainability projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and value for investment.
ABOUT YOU:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Sustainability, Public Policy, Business, or related field, highly regarded
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in sustainability, ESG, CSR, or ethical compliance highly regarded
- Experience with ESG frameworks or BCORP Certification process highly regarded
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Data-driven mindset with experience in sustainability metrics and reporting tools
