About Us:

RATP Dev Western Sydney Airport (RDWSA) is a subsidiary of the RATP Group, global leader in high-capacity urban rail and the world's third largest public transport operator.

Our 25,000 people design, operate, maintain and modernize urban and interurban transportation networks. We serve more than 100 cities in 17 countries, delivering tailored mobility solutions that address each community’s unique environmental, social, and economic challenges.

We build, deliver and commit for the best of public transport - every day, everywhere, for everybody - to make it the natural choice for cities and passengers.

As a contractor to the Australian Federal and NSW governments, Parklife Metro is leading a transformative metro project connecting St Marys to Bradfield, linking with the new Western Sydney Airport.

The Parklife Metro (PLM) consortium made up of Plenary, RATP Dev, Siemens, and Webuild is delivering the Stations, Systems, Trains and Operations & Maintenance (SSTOM) package of works for the Sydney Metro-Western Sydney Airport (SM-WSA) project.

RDWSA will proudly operate and maintain 6 new stations, 12 metro trains, core rail systems, and a state-of-the-art stabling and maintenance facility at Orchard Hills on the Western Sydney Airport metro line for 15 years after the line has become operational.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Asset Management Director, this role will play a key part in ensuring that safety, systems, and security assurance processes are embedded throughout the Design & Construction (D&C) phase and aligned with project and organisational requirements. Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting the implementation of safety, security, and systems assurance processes defined by RDWSA
  • Contributing to risk and hazard management activities and assurance planning across the project
  • Reviewing key safety documentation such as System Safety Assurance Plans, Hazard Analyses, and Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEA)
  • Participating in hazard review processes as a subject matter expert, ensuring risks are identified, managed, and documented appropriately
  • Supporting requirements management and verification & validation activities in line with project milestones
  • Engaging in the review of human factors and ergonomic assessments in collaboration with operational and maintenance SMEs
  • Overseeing RAM processes, including methodology review, data validation, lifecycle costing, and performance reporting (MTBF/MTTR)
  • Reviewing and supporting the development of asset data registers and configuration management plans
  • Contributing to the development of the SPMS (System Performance Monitoring System), spare parts strategies, and tools assessments
  • Ensuring assurance activities are traceable, auditable, and integrated with the broader system design and operational readiness objectives

About You:

We’re looking for a systems-minded professional with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and assurance to help deliver one of Australia’s most significant transport infrastructure projects. In this role, you’ll be empowered to apply your technical expertise and collaborative approach to ensure the safe and effective integration of systems throughout the Design & Construction phase. To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in the railway environment, with experience in driverless metro projects considered a strong advantage
  • Proven expertise in RAMS processes, including hazard identification, risk analysis, verification and validation, and system assurance planning
  • Sound knowledge of engineering safety management frameworks and systems assurance processes in complex infrastructure environments
  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering, or a B.Sc./M.Sc. in Physics, Electronics, Power Supply, or Computer Science
  • A strong understanding of EN50126:2017 and ISO 50216, as well as relevant legislation and standards for safety-critical rail projects
  • Familiarity with ONRSR regulatory requirements and the assurance processes supporting major rail infrastructure projects
  • Experience or exposure to quality assurance, security, and risk management within complex project delivery environments (highly desirable)
  • Flexibility to collaborate with international teams and occasionally work to European time zones
