Position Information

Tempe High is a co-educational comprehensive high school with a partially selective stream in 7-10. The student enrolment of 996 students (Year 7 to Year 12) includes 59% of students from a non–English speaking background. The school has 2.9% of students who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. We celebrate all student achievement from the sporting and creative to the intellectual domains. Our Learning Support and Wellbeing Teams are highly engaged in guiding students through their academic and social pathways, providing suitable planning and emotional support as the needs of students arise. We encourage students to engage in enrichment opportunities within and beyond the classroom and have seen success in these areas.

Our students are supported by enthusiastic and skilled teachers who are committed to improving their ongoing learning through meaningful professional learning and evidence-informed approaches to pedagogy. We are committed to a growth mindset which supports students to identify and celebrate their success, incrementally and in more public ways, so that the school can celebrate with them.

We welcome the contributions of beginning and highly experienced teachers because we believe that all staff offer valid and valuable skills and knowledge that can enrich a school community. Tempe High also shares its vision for success through an engaged parent body, and we work in partnership with multiple agencies to provide an authentic real-world experience for our students.
