Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Team Leader, IT Business and Vendor Management.

The IT Business & Vendor Management team within the Chief Information Officer Command, leads and oversees procurement and contract management activities for systems, networks, technologies and resourcing that underpin enterprise capabilities. We are seeking highly motivated and organised individuals who are able to work effectively under limited direction to deliver efficiences, achieve value for money, reduce risk and maximise effectiveness of contracts in support of AFP operations and activities through their procurement and/or contract management expertise.

This role has a focus on developing, leading and overseeing compliant and innovative procurements to provide better contracting outcomes and/or managing contracts and vendor relationships to ensure compliance and protect the interests of the AFP.

As a Team Leader in the AFP you will play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and value of each individual. Consistent with the AFP values, AFP leadership philosophy, organisational reform agendas, AFP corporate business plans and your Performance Development Agreement, the expectation is that you will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments.

What will you do?
Lead and mentor a team, fostering professional growth and collaboration
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with Command and Organisational goals
Oversee end to end procurement and contract management processes, ensuring compliance with internal policy and regulatory requirements
Negotiate contracts with suppliers and stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes
Monitor market trends to identify opportunities for savings and innovation
Manage risks associated with procurement and contracts, implementing mitigations plans as required
Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers
Essential Requirements
You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application
A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one
Has contemporary knowledge and experience relevant to the role
Minimum 2 years' experience in a like or related field and knowledge in Government procurement & contracting
Sound understanding of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and Public, Governance, Performance and Accountability (PGPA) Act
Certificate IV (or higher/equivalent) in Government Procurement & Contracting
Demonstrated ability to lead a team
Desirable Requirements

Additional Information
This role is located in Canberra ACT, however remote working options may be negotiated in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth. Successful applicants are expected to be based in the relevant locations.
