We are looking for someone with a passion for customer service and a high level of attention to detail to fill our position for an On Road Duty Officer.
The successful candidate will be covering lines from 14:00 to 22:10 and 22:00 to 06:10.

What we need from you:
- Bus driver experience (minimum of 3 years to be considered)
- Valid MR licence may be considered for the right fit. Would need to be willing to upgrade to HR and complete bendy training.
- Valid Bus Driver Authority and Working With Children Check (or willing to renew)
- Valid First Aid Certificate (or willing to renew or obtain)
- Graphic design experience (MS Illustrator preferred)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Illustrator, PowerPoint, Paint, Word, Outlook)
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Enjoy a mix of teamwork and working autonomously – Team Player!
- Bus Driver Compliance knowledge
- Superior customer service in a disruptive environment
- Knowledge of bus operation networking and scheduling
- Minor maintenance experience (no trade certificate required)
- Willingness to learn policies and procedures (training provided)
- Advance Management Fatigue Supervisor training (or willing to obtain)
- Advantage if you know PTIPS, VDS, HASTAS or similar systems (training provided)
- Available to work shifts (7 day roster / 5 days per week full time) Shifts are 2pm-10.10pm and 10.00pm-6.10am
About your new position:
Reporting to the Traffic and Events Manager and supporting the Traffic and Events Coordinator, you will work independently, with the team, and external stakeholders. The role is based at our Port Botany depot but you will be responsible for service all our Region 9 route services and disruption across our Waverley, Randwick and Port Botany depots.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Design and produce mapping routes for bus stops and drivers for route diversions during special events or road closures
- Attend disruptions such as breakdowns, incidents and special events to assist commuters to diverted services
- Minor bus and bus stop maintenance on site, if a trade certificate is not required for repair
- Driver compliance – ensure employed drivers are up to date with their bus driver compliance and are up to date in the internal system.
- Liaise with external and internal stakeholders to report and work together on any changes, hazards, incidents or special events
- Create media notice and post special events
- Write reports – incidents, road hazards, schedule changes/delays, use of tap on/off
- Assist with claims and invoicing
- Board onto in-service buses and provide support to Bus Operators and passengers as required
- Ensure service safety and reliability by driving On-Road Duty Officer van along in-service buses as per schedules as required
- Attend bus stops/bus interchanges with known behavioural issues at various time of the day and night or as directed by OCC, to ensure safety and compliance
- Drug and alcohol test bus drivers
