About the Opportunity
Cessnock City Council is seeking a skilled and motivated Waste Services Operator to join our Waste Services team. In this hand on role you’ll be operating a range of heavy plant, including compactors, traxcavators, excavators, dozers, material handlers and driving heavy rigid trucks across landfill, resource recovery, and waste collection activities.
With a brand new landfill cell opening next year, which will serve the community for the next 20 years, this is a chance to step into a role that offers meaningful work, stability and the opportunity to make a long term impact. To succeed in this role, you will bring proven experience as either:
- a skilled operator of waste operations/civil plant such as compactors, traxcavators, excavators, dozers and material handlers, or
- a waste collection driver with side loader experience who is keen to expand into broader waste operations.

Remuneration
$92,673 - $107,305 per annum plus superannuation
