The role:

As a trainee, you'll embark on a journey to learn the ins and outs of water treatment processes, gaining hands-on experience and valuable skills that will set you up for a successful career in the water industry. You'll be part of a dedicated team of professionals who are committed to ensuring our community has access to clean, safe water while protecting our precious natural resources.
Timeframe
This is a 2-year traineeship. On completion you will obtain a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations.
This is a traineeship and is ideal for school leavers, those new to the industry or seeking a career change. Eligibility criteria apply if you hold existing qualifications in this area.

What you will need to succeed:
- An attention to detail for monitoring and testing water samples.
- Ability to think analytically to help identify patterns, trends and potential issues.
- An active planner and problem solver
- An interest in learning about water testing and their systems
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- You're a team player, with the ability to learn from, and grow positive relationships with others.
- Successful completion of Year 10 is desirable but not required.

Council is committed to the safety of its employees and requires an immunisation program for identified roles. The successful applicant will be required to attend a post-employment immunisation assessment, by a health practitioner nominated and paid for by the Council.
The successful applicant will be required to undertake a pre-employment Medical and Drug and Alcohol test as part of the onboarding process.
