About the Role

  • Permanent, Full Time

We are seeking a passionate and organised Work Placement Officer to join our student-focused team at the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors (AIPC). In this critical role, you will coordinate vocational work placements, ensuring students gain quality, compliant on-the-job learning while supporting host organisations to provide meaningful development opportunities.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Securing suitable placements aligned to course requirements
  • Preparing students for successful placements and managing expectations
  • Monitoring progress and addressing any issues or concerns
  • Ensuring compliance with training package rules, WHS standards and equity principles
  • Evaluating placement outcomes and identifying continuous improvement opportunities

To be considered, you will have:

  • A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field like Counselling, Community Services, Allied Health or Education
  • At least 2 years' experience in a related role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

To be successful, you will bring:

  • A strong understanding of work placement requirements and the VET sector
  • Proven ability to build relationships and engage diverse groups of students and industry partners
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills
  • A flexible, solutions-focused mindset
