- Monday, Tuesday(preferred) and Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
- Located in Brooklyn, NSW, just 25 minutes from Gosford or Hornsby. Public transport is easily accessible, with a train station at the end of Brooklyn and a nearby bus stop.
Fenwicks Marina, an award-winning facility on the Hawkesbury River, is seeking an enthusiastic and hard-working individual to join our team. No prior experience is required, but an interest in boats and the marine industry is highly valued. This is an excellent opportunity to learn various aspects of marina operations and the broader marine industry.
The Yard Hand position is the beating heart of the business, you will support various marina operations, gaining valuable skills along the way, with full training provided by our on-site manager. This role offers growth potential, including the opportunity to train for straddle carrier operations, amongst other things.
Your Typical Day Will Focus On
- Jet washing, scraping, and cleaning vessel hulls and running gear
- Assisting with boat setup for lifting to/from water, hardstand, or transport using the Marine Straddle Carrier MSC50
- Serving fuel, LP gas, ice, and other provisions to customers
- Assisting customers while berthing vessels, including securing ropes and lines
- Supporting maintenance staff in keeping the yard and marina clean and tidy
- Operating a forklift for yard tasks or deliveries (if licensed)
- Towing vessels around the marina (if licensed)
- Helping with antifouling and detailing when required
- Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines at all times

What You’ll Bring to The Role
- Prior experience in a marina or boatyard setting is advantageous but not essential.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Boat License or willingness to obtain one.
- Demonstrated physical fitness with the ability to handle heavy objects.
- Exceptional teamwork and communication skills.
- Safety-conscious mindset and dedication to following safety protocols.
- Adaptability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
