The Opportunity
The purpose of the Zero Harm Manager is to embed and partner with our client and fellow program partners to develop and lead initiatives that drive best practice. The Zero Harm Manager will play a pivotal role in creating, revising and improving ways of working, that will enable our teams to operate efficiently, whilst maintaining management system compliance for all parties.
This role has a strategic and consultant-style partnering focus, ensuring that program activities, milestones, and outcomes across the program are tracked, communicated, and used to drive continuous improvement. Acting as a trusted partner, the Program Zero Harm Manager identifies opportunities for improved ways of working, frames tactical improvement plans, and influences key stakeholders to deliver sustainable change. The role will require the Program Zero Harm Manager to be involved in the full project Life Cycle, providing advice and input that aligns to respective targets and objectives of Downer and our Client.
What we are looking for
- Minimum 8-10 years’ experience as a Health, Safety, Environment professional, with relevant industry experience
- Exposure to high-risk industries, preferably construction, infrastructure, utilities, energy, resources or heavy industry.
- Experience in client-facing roles, with the ability to win trust, build relationships, and advocate for program outcomes.
- Experience operating in a partnering / consultant-style role, providing solutions and demonstrating value creation.
- Track record of developing, implementing, and embedding contemporary safety systems.
- High level of problem solving with the ability to manage complex issues.
- Ability to positively influence change and communicate effectively with multiple levels of stakeholders within complex environments.
- Demonstrated ability to work across multiple programs of work, with experience linking tactical safety actions to business strategy.
- Report writing, trending and analysis
