The opportunity

  • Administrative support of key management and project activities at the Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness
  • Liaise closely with agencies and individuals across CSIRO as well as nationally and internationally
  • Draw on your professionalism and strong judgement providing confidential assistance to the Research Director

The Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness (ACDP) helps protect Australia’s multi-billion-dollar livestock and aquaculture industries, and the general public, from emerging infectious disease threats. It is a high-containment facility designed to allow scientific research into the most dangerous infectious agents in the world.


As an Administration Officer with the ACDP, you will provide administrative support services to the ACDP Research Director. Working alongside the administrative support team within ACDP, you will undertake a range of tasks and project support activities. Using a high level of discretion and confidentiality, you will bring initiative and an ability to manage and coordinate key relationships with various stakeholders and manage a range of diverse activities simultaneously. For success in this role, you will be familiar with administrative procedures for project management and have the ability to work with various systems to assist in preparing complex milestone reports.



Your duties will include:
  • Administrative support to the Research Director
  • General administrative tasks
  • Record keeping and compliance
  • Communication – preparing reports, liaising with stakeholders, preparing written correspondence, etc
  • Diary Management, event and travel coordination


Location: Geelong – Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness (ACDP), Victoria
Salary: AU $73k - AU $93k per annum, plus up to 15.4% superannuation
Tenure: Term until 31st December 2027

To be considered you will need:

  • Experience as an admin officer for at least 2 years working within the broader admin team and supporting the leadership team with inbox and calendar management.
  • Highly developed administration skills, including advanced abilities in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong judgment and the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders, both internal and external clients.
  • Proofreading and writing skills, and the ability to effectively collate information from various sources.
  • Highly developed time management and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work co-operatively as a contributor to teams and to interact effectively with scientific and industry stakeholders.

Eligibility

Applications for this position are open to Australian Citizens only. Appointment to this role is subject to the ability to obtain a security clearance at Negative Vetting 1 level and is also subject to other security/medical/character requirements, which are detailed in the position description.
