The Patient Support Services team is comprised of seven essential units that work collaboratively to ensure the smooth operation and safety of the healthcare environment. These units include Cleaning, Linen, Waste, and Porterage. The Help Desk serves as a central communication hub, coordinating service requests and support tasks. CELS (Central Equipment Loan Service) provide and manages the distribution of medical equipment to support clinical care. Lastly, Security ensures the safety and protection of patients, staff, and visitors. Together, these units form a cohesive team dedicated to supporting patient care and hospital operations.
About the Role
Provide high quality confidential administrative support to the Patient Support Services team as directed.
Work autonomously, utilising discretion in the absence of decision makers in resolution of conflict, to meet deadlines, establish work priorities, and organise meetings, events, and activities.
Exercise judgement when necessary to solve immediate problems in situations where precedents have not been set and procedures are not defined.
Participate in the development, implementation, review and maintenance of internal systems, processes, and work practices.
The ability to use (or ability to learn) current software packages and systems required within the department i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, S4HANA etc.
Accurate data entry in recruitment, rostering, orientation and training databases as directed.
Monitor and manage generic email accounts.
Build relationships with customers, using strong communication skills and negotiation skills to understand customers' needs and to deliver a service that meets their needs within policy guidelines.
Actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resources management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, work, health and safety, and ethical behaviour.
