Join our dynamic Children’s Services team as an Administration Officer/Receptionist, providing quality customer service, administrative support, and site coordination.
The Role
The Administration Officer/Receptionist will work within the Children’s Services Unit (CSU), which consists of various programs designed to support individuals, families, and children. The CSU aims to build parenting capacity through family supports, therapeutic interventions, development of parenting and relationship skills, and connection to community resources.
In this role, you will provide essential administrative support to the CSU team, while managing reception duties, such as welcoming visitors and responding to enquiries with professionalism and sensitivity. You will be a proactive self-starter, capable of multi-tasking and delivering high-quality, confidential support in a dynamic environment. This role will also undertake First Aider responsibilities for the site (First Aid allowances will apply as per the award).
This is a fixed-term opportunity, funded until 30 June 2026.

What you need to bring
Essential
- Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check
- Outgoing, friendly personality with the ability to relate to and communicate with people from all different cultures, including young children, parents and staff
- Experience in providing a broad range of administration skills with excellent attention to detail
- Clear and confident communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-faceted team environment along with proven ability to work independently
- Well-developed time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise
- Excellent computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Ability to travel across alternative locations within Adelaide metropolitan area to backfill other administration roles within CSU
- First Aid Certificate – (Centacare will support suitable candidate to undertake Fist Aid course)
- Ability to backfill other administration roles within CSU across alternative locations within Adelaide metropolitan area when required
- Ability to work additional outside of traditional work hours as outlined in your contract when required
Desirable
- Experience using Penelope electronic client management system
- Experience working in the non-for-profit or community services sector
