As an Advisor in the Premier, Cabinet and Regional Development team your expertise will be instrumental in contributing to the economic growth and environmental stewardship of NSW. At NSW Treasury we are empowered to make a real difference to the lives of NSW people.
As an Advisor you will play a crucial role in supporting the Primary Industries sector. You will play a key part shaping policies that govern our natural resources, including mining, agriculture, forestry, and fisheries. drought response and mitigation strategies, ensuring the sustainability and resilience of our industries.
Your role will involve monitoring the financial performance of agencies, identifying risks, and developing effective mitigation strategies in collaboration with stakeholders across the sector. You will build a robust evidence base to support resource allocation advice and advance essential reforms. Additionally, you will work closely with agencies and Treasury colleagues to prepare the annual State Budget and Half-Yearly Review.

In this integral role there are a few things we would like for you to have to best support yourself and add value to the people of NSW.
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
- Proven experience in economic and fiscal policy advice and development, thriving in high-pressure, dynamic environments.
- Good financial and financial analyst experience – the ability to analyse and interpret numbers, and numerical skills.
- Proactive, and a positive self-starter with experience as a primary point of contact in people facing surroundings.
- Resilient and confident in managing fast paced, complex and ever-changing environments.
- Experience in or knowledge of the primary industries and natural resources sectors, including mining, agriculture, forestry, fisheries and/or drought response and mitigation is highly desirable.
- Skilled in financial and data analysis using Microsoft Excel and Prime - highly attractive.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Deep understanding of economic, fiscal, and public policy, with project management expertise.
- Tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in relevant fields or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated ability and desire to work collaboratively as part of a highly motivated and driven team.

Eligibility
