AOD Support Workers – Bridgehaven Women’s Residential Program

About the Bridgehaven Women’s AOD Residential Program
Bridgehaven offers a safe and nurturing 18-bed residential programme for women – including those who are pregnant or accompanied by children – who are seeking support with alcohol and other drug challenges. With a strong focus on trauma-informed care, we provide the space and support women need to reflect, recover and reconnect with themselves and their families.
About The Role
We’re currently looking for compassionate and proactive AOD Support Workers to join our Bridgehaven team. In this hands-on role, you’ll provide both practical and emotional support to programme participants – empowering them to engage fully in their recovery journey and build brighter futures.
Reporting to the Bridgehaven Support Work Coordinator, this is a casual position, based in Preston, VIC.
Compensation is in accordance with SCHADS Award Level 4.

Key Responsibilities
- Build meaningful, trusting relationships with residents to foster healing and personal growth
- Facilitate and support psycho-social educational groups
- Organise inclusive, engaging social activities to promote community and well-being
- Work collaboratively with case managers and other team members to support holistic care plans
- Support and guide behaviour in line with program policies, including managing exits when necessary
About You
You’re calm under pressure, empathetic by nature, and committed to walking alongside women as they rebuild their lives. Your strengths lie in creating safe, respectful spaces where people feel seen, supported and encouraged.
You’ll also have
- Experience in the AOD sector or a similar social services environment
- Confidence working with women from diverse backgrounds with complex needs
- Certificate IV in AOD or completion of the AOD Skill Set
- A current Employee Working with Children's Check
- A current Victorian Driver’s Licence
- A valid First Aid Certificate
