About the Role:

As an Asset Data Officer, you will play a key role in managing and enhancing asset and spatial data to support Sydney Water’s Asset Information Management. Your efforts will directly contribute to the effective operation of the Asset Management System (AMS) and Asset Information System (AIS), aligning with Sydney Water’s objectives and its vision of delivering world-class water services to improve lives.

Reporting to the Manager of Asset Information Lifecycle, you will provide essential data creation and modification services for cadastral (land), facility assets, linear assets, facility management, and geospatial data. These services will be delivered in accordance with Sydney Water's Asset Information Management service model, ensuring a meaningful impact on the organization’s asset management initiatives.

About you:

Ideally you will have Tertiary qualifications in Information Management, Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline, or similar experience within an information management role. In addition:

  • Knowledge of asset and / or spatial data in utility or similar industry or asset management focussed environment
  • Experience working with information management in water utilities, asset management or demonstratable transferrable industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience with asset management and GIS applications
  • Demonstrated analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to translate data and information management concepts into business terms, use cases and business benefits
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated knowledge of asset management and operation of facility, and / or network environments
