Based in our global head office in Laverton North, we are currently looking for an experienced Category Manager - Manufacturing. Within this role you will be the strategic member of Procurement Team leading, developing and implementing the key sourcing strategies across the ANZ Manufacturing portfolio holding responsibility for both strategic and hands on operational procurement of goods and services related to operations, engineering, maintenance and reliability functions for plant operations/capital projects. This role will work with key stakeholders to develop and implement sourcing strategies, optimising value and risk for Nufarm and building the contracts with suppliers. Your experience in managing a manufacturing portfolio along your drive for results will be key to taking the category to a best in class standard.
This autonomous role will see you develop, recommend and implement category strategies to secure optimum outcomes and build key contracts and managing key relationships with suppliers. We’re always focused on continuous improvement, so your utilisation of systems and processes such as Ariba will be critical to ensure the category is managed effectively with the greatest efficiency.
How You’ll Help Us Grow
Develop and implement category strategies for operations, engineering and maintenance spend, aligned with our business goals
Oversee day-to-day purchasing activities for operations, engineering and maintenance materials, spare parts, and services. Including catalogue maintenance and purchase requisition conversion.
Conduct market analysis, supplier segmentation, and risk assessments to inform sourcing strategies.
Drive continuous improvement and innovation in the supply base to support plant reliability and performance through mitigating supply chain risks and single source dependencies
Support CAPEX and OPEX projects and shutdowns with integrated procurement planning and execution
Lead management of spend across engineering and maintenance (e.g EPCM,MRO, Spare parts/equipment)
Lead end-to-end sourcing activities including RFx process documentation, supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contract awarding
Manage key supplier performance through KPIs, scorecards, and regular business reviews
What do you bring?
We are looking for a knowledgeable and driven category manager, with experience working within a matrix cross functional structure of a global organisation. Your deep understanding of MRO and EPCM contract management will mean you can really optimise the engagement of the right suppliers, providing a great service to all stakeholders and make the role your own. Your knowledge and experience in chemical/manufacturing/mining procurement roles in driving value creation will put you in great stead. A passion for agriculture, Australian manufacturing and the evolving of ag is essential!
