Job Description:
As the Category Development Leader, in this contract through 31st of July 2026, you'll deliver best in class category leadership & customer collaboration with one of our major corporate grocery accounts, driving Category, NSV & MAC growth today and for the future.
In this role, you'll be responsible for developing category growth insights-based solutions, embedding Category Vision, improving our Perfect Store metrics, executing our corporate & segment strategy and optimizing sales revenue and profitability at category and portfolio level. You'll be an expert in category & shopper insights, turning those insights into cohesive action and execution plans, all whilst building and leveraging relationships both internally and with customers.

FMCG Experience in category & or customer management in a major grocery retailer is essential.
Proactive, driven & curious candidate who want to learn & grown.
Excellent influencer and communicator who can build deep customer partnerships.
Highly analytical with an ability to drive and translate insights into relevant strategies.
Strong Nielsen & Quantum analytical skills.
What will be your key responsibilities?
Lead the Category Review Process & Delivery anchored to improving our Perfect Store Score. Communication of review process & responsible for leading prep meetings with cross functional team to align on objectives, risks, roles and responsibilities.
Manage the preparation and delivery of the Category Review process to our customer, including detailed market analysis, creation of actionable insights, and providing point of purchase recommendations. Circulate review outcomes & actions to the business, and ensure these actions are completed in a timely manner.
Drive improvement to the customers Perfect Store scores across aisle, transaction zone & display, being clear on the ambition & strategy required.
Lead the customer category growth agenda linked to our Joint Business Plan, building strong and influential relationships focused with the customer on delivering shopper, channel, and category centric solutions so that Mars is viewed as a trusted category captain.
Grounded in our category vision, executes customer plans that ensures a strong understanding of the category growth drivers, role and attractiveness are well embedded as the foundation for our customer growth plans & activation.
Develop compelling insight led category solutions which influences shopper behaviour and converts more shoppers and transactions at the point of sale to deliver a 3 way win and identify future customer growth opportunities.
