You will be responsible for working collaboratively with Category Leads to achieve value-for-money priorities for each subcategory and to identify opportunities to drive savings and benefits through their respective procurement activities, including:
- Lead in the management, coordination, and development of category strategies to ensure alignment with Queensland Government Procurement Policy objectives and requirements.
- Develop a category strategy template in consultation with the six category leads, ensuring it supports the preparation of strategies that can be endorsed by the relevant category council and approved by the Minister responsible for government procurement.
- Ensure category strategies are reviewed and published annually, incorporating value-for-money priorities, opportunities for savings and benefits and alignment with government objectives and commitments.
- Report on the status of category strategies, including tracking progress against timelines, identifying risks, and highlighting opportunities to optimise procurement processes and deliver value-for-money outcomes.
- Coordinate and facilitate cross-category consultation to enhance collaboration and efficiency.
- Provide guidance and advice to category leads on the implications of new legislation and policy changes, ensuring their strategies and activities remain compliant and aligned with government priorities.
