Your new role
As a Community Centre Coordinator, you will play a key role in leading and supporting the day-to-day activities of Wandana Community Centre. This is a hands-on role that involves engaging with the community, working alongside local partners, and coordinating programs that make a real difference. By building strong relationships and creating inclusive initiatives, you will ensure the centre stays connected, welcoming, and aligned with Centacare’s mission and values.
What you will be doing
- Be the friendly face of the centre – greet visitors, answer phone calls and assist with general enquiries
- Support the Manager in sourcing and applying for grants to help grow and sustain programs
- Help deliver current programs and look for new opportunities that meet community needs
- Plan and coordinate local events, working alongside volunteers and community members
- Be flexible and ready to pitch in as part of a small, hardworking team
- Manage petty cash and the site credit card responsibly, including monthly reconciliations
- Assist with site maintenance needs in partnership with the Manager
This role is contracted until 30 June 2026.
What you need to bring
Mest have:
- Minimum Certificate 4 in Community Services or equivalent.
- Proven experience in promoting and developing teamwork and an effective work environment
- Ability to drive engagement and brand awareness through social media and marketing initiatives
- Demonstrated skills relating to tender writing and grant submissions
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership and consultative skills
- Experience in leading individuals and teams and projects
- Demonstrated enthusiasm to drive growth and continuous improvement
- Current WWCC
- Valid Driver's Licence
Bonus if you have these.. But not necessary
- Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or a related field
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience and/or qualification in adult education
- Experience managing volunteers
- Experience using Athena Penelope electronic client management system
