We work with people affected by alcohol and other drugs, mental health issues, justice involvement, and family and domestic violence. We are proud to operate headspace Esperance, providing vital early intervention mental health services to young people aged 12–25.
About the Role
We’re seeking a dynamic and community-minded Community Engagement Officer to join our team at headspace Esperance. In this full-time, fixed-term role (Parental Leave cover until 13 February 2026), you will work alongside young people, families, and local stakeholders to promote mental health awareness and improve community engagement.
You will lead the development of culturally responsive community initiatives and health promotion strategies, guide the Youth Advisory Group, and coordinate events, workshops, and campaigns that reflect the needs and voices of young people. The role combines creativity, strategy, and advocacy to help young people feel seen, heard, and supported.

- SCHADS Level 4 – $44.58 p/hr + super + $1.01 p/hr regional allowance

You’ll Need
- Experience working with young people impacted by mental health, alcohol and other drugs, or social issues
- Background in community engagement, youth participation, or event coordination within youth organisations or public health
- Ability to plan, promote, and deliver mental health events, education sessions, and workshops
- Demonstrated skills in stakeholder engagement and partnership building
- Experience managing social media platforms and websites for community engagement
- Strong communication and marketing skills, including producing professional materials
- Current C or A Class driver’s licence
- Current Working With Children Check, National Police Certificate (within 3 months), and First Aid Certificate
