Your opportunity
As Cyber Operations Lead, you’ll be reporting to the Chief Security and Information Officer and CTO. The role will have you overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organisation’s cyber defence capabilities. This role ensures the continuous improvement of security monitoring, incident response, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management processes. Working side by side with people who go the extra mile, you’ll also love the feeling of helping those who need us. Here’s how you’ll do it:
- Work with our managed Security Operations Centre (SOC) partner, ensuring 24/7 monitoring and response capabilities.
- Develop and maintain operational procedures, playbooks, and escalation paths for incident response.
- Coordinate and lead incident response efforts, including containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Oversee the tuning and operation of SIEM, EDR, and other monitoring tools.
- Analyse threat intelligence and integrate it into detection and response strategies.
- Conduct post-incident reviews and root cause analyses to improve future resilience.
- Manage vulnerability scanning and remediation processes across infrastructure and applications.
- Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to ensure timely patching and secure configurations.
- Support risk assessments and audits by providing operational security insights.
- Collaborate with IT, compliance, and business units to align security operations with organizational goals.
- Provide regular reporting on security incidents, KPIs, and operational effectiveness to senior leadership.
- Maintain dashboards and metrics to track security operations performance and threat landscape trends.
- Compliance-related issues or non-compliance are escalated and/or reported
What you’ll bring
We believe the successful candidate will have outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with users at all levels. You’ll bring:
- 5+ years in cyber security operations, including SOC leadership or senior analyst roles.
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, ISO 27001).
- Hands-on experience with SIEM, SOAR, EDR, IDS/IPS, and threat intelligence platforms.
- Familiarity with Azure cloud and hybrid environments.
- Excellent analytical, communication (written and verbal), and proven leadership skills.
