About the Role

Joining our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team, you will provide support 2 people with disability living in shared housing in Miranda who enjoy watching and catching trains and public transport, going to the library and attending church on Sundays.

The successful candidate must be experienced and confident in working with high behaviours of concern and behaviour support plans and must be able to commit to the set permanent part time roster of 34 hours per fortnight:

  • Week 1: Mon & Tue 6-10am, Wed 2-9pm and Sat 9am – 2pm
  • Week 2: Wed 10am – 3pm, Thu 6-10am and Sat 9am – 2pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
  • Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
  • Maintain thorough record keeping
  • Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
  • Advocate for client choice and control

Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with people with disability
  • Previous experience working behaviours of concern
  • Prior experience working with high medical needs
  • Confidence in driving a wheelchair van
  • Manual Handling and Hoisting experience
  • An unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
  • A current First Aid and CPR Certificate

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.
