2290 Employee Relations– Officer

About the role:
You will provide a high level of support in Employee Relations matters to employees and leaders across the organisation. This role will primarily be assisting the upcoming Enterprise Agreement Negotiations process and you will be a key part of the negotiation team.
You will be the first point of contact aiming to resolve as many queries and issues as possible and escalating to the relevant team members where required. You will be responsible for administration, documentation and supporting continuous improvement initiatives and compliance as required.
It is desirable if you have had experience in Enterprise Agreement Negotiations or similar.

What you can expect with this role
- Provide accurate and consistent advice to employees and managers across all levels of the organisation on Employee Relations and Human Resources entitlements and processes including interpretation of the Water Corporation Enterprise Agreement, employment contracts and policies/procedures (e.g. parental leave, flexible working arrangements, employee benefits and allowances, study assistance and civil and trades frameworks).
- Support the Employee Relations Manager and respective teams to provide advice to employees and managers across the organisation.
- Resolve issues with employees and leaders on the interpretation of the Water Corporation Enterprise Agreement and employment conditions.
- Act as the initial point of contact to direct and resolve Negotiations queries across the business.
- Provide administrative support to the Enterprise Agreement Negotiation team.
- Support the management of union relationships through right of entry and Joint Consultative Committee coordination.
Your skills and experience
For this role, we are looking for great talent with:
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related discipline is desired
- Demonstrated understanding of human resources and employee relations including the interpretation of conditions of employment; employment legislation, enterprise agreements, awards, contracts of employment and policies/procedures OR
- Experience in human resources and employee relations providing advice interpretation of conditions of employment; employment legislation, enterprise agreements, awards, contracts of employment and policies/procedures.
- Experience in workplace negotiations or similar is desired
- Sound knowledge and understanding of contemporary ER and HR theory and practice.
- Good computing skills and the capability to learn and apply the Corporation’s suite of business computing applications.
- Sound ability to multi-task and sound judgement to prioritise and escalate where appropriate.
