About the OPPORTUNITY
BAE Systems has an exciting vacancy available for a Fleet Planner (Aircraft Assets) to join the Fleet Management Cell (FMC) on a permanent full-time basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic and operational planning of high-value, critical assets such as engines including scheduling maintenance, managing asset availability, and optimising utilisation. The role ensures fleet readiness meets operational demands while minimising downtime.
Based at our RAAF Base Williamtown Offices in Williamtown NSW, we offer flexible work options, including hybrid arrangements and a 9-day fortnight to help you balance work and life.
Key RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and manage long-term plans for critical assets, ensuring integration with the overall fleet plan to support operational availability.
- Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and maintenance teams to align asset availability with both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
- Identify and report risks, constraints, or abnormalities that could affect asset turnaround time or fleet health.
- Lead or support Integrated Project Team (IPT) activities for fleet aircraft and assets.
- Perform other FMC duties as required.
- Deliver daily aircraft status reports, monthly contractual reports, and service analysis.
- Support the Fleet Planner to ensure asset plans are fully integrated into the fleet plan.
- Assist the Fleet Operations Coordinator in managing allocation and cannibalisation of assets to optimise readiness.
- Participate in key FMC meetings, including the weekly Aircraft Review Board and ad hoc IPT activities.
About YOU
- Demonstrated experience in planning and scheduling within operational readiness or availability-based planning models.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams, including supply chain, engineering, maintenance, and operations.
- A project management qualification, a planning qualification, or relevant military experience is desirable.
- Ability to balance competing priorities while meeting customer and business requirements.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Adaptable communication skills, both written and verbal, for different audiences.
- Proficiency in asset tracking tools, dashboards, and planning/scheduling software (e.g. Excel).
