Free From Violence Project Officer
Fixed Term Part Time – 30.4 hour per week until 31 March 2027
Band 6: $47.77 - $51.81 per hour plus 12% superannuation

About the Role
The Free from Violence Project Officer is supported by the Victorian Government, and is responsible for strategically planning and implementing a whole of council approach towards gender equality and primary prevention initiatives. The Project Officer will engage with key stakeholders across Council to embed a gender lens and intersectional approach across all areas of service delivery.
In this role you will:
- Partner with internal stakeholders to develop, co-design and deliver evidence-informed initiatives to promote gender equity and the prevention of violence against women, tailored to meet the needs of the Latrobe City community and Council workforce.
- Represent Council and advocate on behalf of Council at appropriate committees and forums in relation to gender equity.
- Support workforce capability to recognise and respond to family violence and promote gender equity in service delivery and internal policies and procedures.
- Build employee confidence to embed Gender Impact Assessments (GIA) in Council processes, working in partnership with other service areas of Council.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Relevant qualification or experience in implementation of gender or diversity and inclusion initiatives, with related experience in project delivery.
- Experience in applying best practice gender equity and prevention of violence against women principles, ideally in a local government context.
- Experience managing stakeholders including external organisations and managing relationships with internal staff.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) including the ability to adapt communication to suit varying audiences.
- Ability to manage time effectively, balance competing work priorities and deadlines.
