About the role
Join the team that keeps Sydney Airport moving. As a Ground Transport Operations Coordinator, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and seamless operation of ground access areas—including parking zones, access fee points, towing operations, and incident response. This fast-paced role places you at the heart of airport operations, where you’ll collaborate with internal teams and external providers to manage the daily flow of people and vehicles in one of Australia’s busiest transport precincts.
This is a unique 6-month contract opportunity to contribute to a key area of airport performance. You’ll have the chance to identify and implement improvements across ground access operations, optimising space and resources to ensure the best and highest use. If you’re a problem-solver with strong attention to detail and thrive in a dynamic, operational environment, this is your chance to help shape the passenger experience from the ground up.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to
- Support the day-to-day coordination of ground transport operations, including vehicle and pedestrian movements, parking, and access across the airport precinct.
- Assist in managing access fee systems and ground transport licenses, ensuring smooth operations across taxis, hire cars, minibuses, buses, and off-airport operators.
- Monitor contractor performance to ensure service standards are met, taking corrective action where necessary to maintain high operational quality.
- Conduct regular reviews of ground transport systems, procedures, and processes to identify opportunities for improvement and optimise efficiency.
- Liaise with key stakeholders, including the NSW Taxi Council and ground transport providers, to support effective relationships and operational outcomes.
- Provide support in administering ground transport systems and troubleshooting operational issues, maintaining accurate data and ensuring timely resolutions.
About you
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in ground transport or car park operations, with a strong understanding of day-to-day operational demands.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and adapt quickly to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in leading or supervising teams, with a focus on collaboration and accountability.
- Strong customer service mindset, with the ability to resolve issues while maintaining positive relationships.
- Confident working across multiple technology platforms and systems, with a willingness to troubleshoot and learn.
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence required; airport operations experience is desirable but not essential.
