About the Role
Brooklyn Bennett, a progressive legal practice with a growing portfolio in technology, esports and regulatory law, has been engaged by an international regulatory body to provide ongoing support to its investigations function. We are seeking a highly capable Investigations and Legal Support Officer to join our team in a dual role: seconded to the client to assist with integrity-related investigations, while also providing legal support to the firm’s internal matters.
This role is ideally suited to an individual with a strong sense of professional responsibility, excellent attention to detail, and a keen interest in investigations, compliance or esports regulation.
Key Responsibilities
Secondment Responsibilities (Regulatory Investigations):
- Receive and process alerts relating to suspicious activity reported through the client’s monitoring and intelligence networks.
- Enter and manage data within the client's case management system and maintain investigation records to a high standard of accuracy and integrity.
- Draft and circulate standardised alert notifications to stakeholders and log all responses in the case tracking system.
- Assist with investigative tasks, including preparation of correspondence, coordination of stakeholder communications, and collation of evidence.
- Maintain and update the Investigations Register and contribute to the improvement of internal workflows and investigation protocols.
Brooklyn Bennett Legal Support:
- Provide general legal and administrative support to solicitors across commercial, dispute resolution and regulatory practice areas.
- Assist with document preparation and management, including file opening, correspondence, drafting summaries and case notes.
- Support litigation and advisory matters including legal research, discovery, and court document collation.
- Liaise with clients, external parties and the court registry as required.
Requirements
Essential
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Competence with spreadsheets, cloud storage systems, and legal databases.
- Interest in compliance, regulatory investigations, or technology/esports industries.
Desirable
- Prior experience as a legal clerk, paralegal, or investigations officer.
- Tertiary qualifications in law, criminology, business, or a related field.
- Familiarity with betting data, integrity reporting, or sporting/esports regulatory frameworks.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating across multiple teams or stakeholders.
