Ambulance Victoria is seeking a Lead Safety Programs to join the Health and Safety department. This role is responsible for managing and maintaining AV's Occupational Health and Safety Management System, ensuring compliance with ISO 45001 standards. The Lead Safety Programs will also lead a range of impactful health and safety projects and initiatives that support AV's broader Health & Safety Strategy.
This is a Full Time, Permanent position. While WFH/Hybrid options are available, it is essential that the successful applicant maintains a presence at Doncaster Headquarters in line with our hybrid working model.
About the role
Reporting to the Senior Manager Safety, responsibilities of this position include, but not limited to:
- Lead the delivery of various Health & Safety projects and initiatives
- Lead and guide the development and implementation of the OHS management system
- Advise key stakeholders on various health and safety services, initiatives and complex OHS matters
- Prepare reports on health and safety performance measures and make recommendations for improvement
- Develop, implement and maintain policies, processes and procedures
About you
To be considered for this role, candidates should hold a postgraduate qualification or relevant industry certification (or be actively working toward one), along with extensive experience in a related field. A combination of formal training and solid practical experience will also be considered. Certification as an Internal/Lead Auditor for ISO 45001 is highly desirable.
You will also possess:
- Demonstrated experience managing OHS risks in a complex and highly regulated organisation
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of OHS legislation
- Experience in the design, implementation and management of projects
- Experience in developing training, projects or equivalent is highly desirable
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications
