The Project: HumeLink East
Genus Infrastructure (NSW), in partnership with Acciona, is proud to be delivering the HumeLink East project—part of a $1.4 billion joint venture. This major initiative involves the construction of 237 km of 500 kV transmission lines between Bannaby and Wondalga in NSW, along with enhancements to the Bannaby substation.
This project is a vital component of the broader HumeLink development, designed to boost grid capacity, support Snowy 2.0, and facilitate the integration of renewable energy across NSW. Construction commenced early in 2025, with completion expected between 2026 and 2027. It will create approximately 1,600 jobs and include a $2 million investment in local communities, with a strong emphasis on environmental stewardship and stakeholder collaboration.
The Role: Transmission Linespeople
As a key member of our Transmission Lines team, you’ll play a crucial role in the construction and maintenance of high-voltage infrastructure. Your work will help ensure a stable and reliable electricity supply, adhering to all relevant standards, procedures, and safety protocols in both routine and emergency scenarios.
You’ll be expected to follow Genus Infrastructure’s operational guidelines and client specifications, promote safe work practices, and contribute to a culture of safety and accountability. This includes hazard identification, incident reporting, and compliance with company values and legislative requirements.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking skilled and qualified Transmission Lineworkers who are eligible to work in Australia. Ideal candidates will possess:
- A current UET30521 Certificate III in ESI – Transmission Overhead
- A valid High Risk Work License with Elevated Work Platform (WP) endorsement
- Advanced & Intermediate Rigging
- EWP & Tower rescue
- A valid MR class manual driver’s license, with willingness to upgrade to HR (HR license preferred)
- Proven experience working safely on transmission networks
- A strong commitment to teamwork and safety
- Good understanding of PSSR / CPR-LVR
- Successful candidates will be required to undergo a comprehensive medical assessment, including routine drug and alcohol screening, as well as a national police clearance.
