As a Technical Specialist in Transmission Line Construction, you’ll play a hands-on leadership role ensuring the safe, high-quality delivery of AusNet’s transmission infrastructure projects. Drawing on your field experience and technical expertise, you’ll work closely with delivery partners, climb towers, assess quality and safety, and influence outcomes that matter.
This role bridges field knowledge with strategic oversight—supporting innovation, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring our construction standards meet the highest expectations. You’ll be on the road, in the field, and at the heart of shaping how we build the future of energy.
With a Hybrid split (Office/WFH), this role a permanent full-time position and can be located in one of our depots in Victoria and is part of the Transmission team. This role will require travel, and you'll be on the road as part of your responsibilities.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
- Reviewing business cases
- Conducting technical tender reviews for delivery partners
- Providing design input for constructability and timelines
- Performing preconstruction site reviews and inspections, including documenting the work area for scope input
- Ensuring quality aligns with the design and Transmission Lines Design Manual (SDM)
- Verifying that the delivery partner complies with site access and security requirements
- Advising the delivery partner on site setup and installation, following Work Safe guidelines and the SDM
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
- Experience in Transmission Lines Construction
- Hold a Cert III in Transmission Lines or equivalent with barehand/hot stick experience
- Can meet deadlines and know when to escalate issues
- Skilled in prioritising and planning tasks
- Proactive and able to work independently
- Dedicated to the safety of both the community and employees involved in providing services
