At Optus, we have an ambitious goal to be Australia’s most loved everyday brand.
The Risk Manager is a strategic partner to the assigned Business Unit (BU), responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on all aspects of risk management. The role ensures business risks are proactively identified, assessed, reported, mitigated, and monitored in line with organisational risk tolerances and compliance requirements. Working closely with BU leaders, the Risk Manager embeds strong risk practices that support business performance objectives while protecting the Optus’s interests
Using resources within the BU, the Risk Manager reviews and assesses business processes to ensure they are well-documented, regularly updated, and owned by the appropriate process stakeholders—while maintaining clear separation of duties and accountability. The role engages with a broad network of stakeholders, including Internal Audit, BU Senior Leadership Teams, the Optus Executive Leadership Team, Singtel Group Risk, and external auditors, to drive a robust risk culture and effective governance
What you'll be doing

Support the BU in conducting risk assessments, and in designing, implementing, and maintaining effective and efficient control environments embedded in business processes.
Facilitate timely and accurate risk reporting in line with framework requirements, ensuring data integrity within the Optus Governance Risk and Compliance system.
Monitor the status of agreed management actions, analyse trends and exceptions, and prepare insight reports on risk and compliance performance.
Contribute to enterprise-wide transparency by preparing reports that reflect the BU’s risk and compliance status, supporting an integrated organisational risk view.
