Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS). The National Capital Authority (NCA) has responsibility for the promotion of the National Triangle. Attracting visitors to celebrate and engage with the story of the National Capital. Each year, experiences and activities are created that enhance the awareness of the National Capital and its national significance, creating precincts that are interesting and safe that welcome visitors. The National Triangle is supported by active marketing campaigns, social media and digital communications that engage Australian public.
The Marketing Manager plays an integral role in supporting the promote function of the NCA. Leading marketing activities that attract visitation and that encourage visitors to connect and explore the National Triangle.
- Develop and implement creative, innovative and modern marketing strategies to assist the NCA achieve its corporate priorities and outcomes. Work with NCA teams in the development of marketing campaigns, which promote the work of the NCA and that achieve maximum effect.
- Lead the development of branding strategies, developing marketing assets, social media and other digital and communication products.
- Strong focus on developing content that reflects the work of the NCA, creates awareness of NCA activities and improves audience engagement with the NCA.
- Lead connection and collaboration with key stakeholders and encourage their participation in marketing activities including the National Cultural Institutions in Canberra.
- Manage a small team in marketing, graphic design and digital delivery, with a focus on developing a positive and solution focused workplace.
- Keep up to date with industry trends, and lead discussions around digital improvements that will enable the NCA to continually improve its marketing abilities and increasing its audience reach.
- Regularly review the quality of marketing campaigns and the digital content produced, by analysing performance metrics and continually refining content, ensuring it consistently captivates our audiences.
- Provide financial management of the Marketing Department, including budgeting, acquittals, accruals and invoice payments.
- Lead and oversee the procurements of marketing and graphic design functions for the NCA and provide effective contract management, ensuring the NCA maximises these contracts.
- Assist with the provision of statutory reports such as board reports, presentations, and questions on notice.
- Work productively and cooperatively across NCA teams and with external stakeholders to achieve common goals.
- Participate as a constructive member of the National Capital Authority and provide reasonable support with Branch functions as required.
- Marketing leader, with ability to lead and develop marketing campaigns for events, visitor experiences and brand campaigns.
- Digital confidence, with ability to lead and develop social media marketing and content.
- Ability to lead brand management and promotion.
- Ability to gain and maintain a security classification of Baseline is mandatory.
- Experience in leading and developing marketing campaigns, with demonstrated experience at increasing visitor engagement and audience reach.
- Experienced in delivering digital marketing, including strong skills in social media management.
- Demonstrated experience in project management.
- Established network across Commercial, Government and Tourism sectors.
