We are currently seeking expressions of interest for the Manager, Reconstruction Funding Assessments and Claims role within the Infrastructure Coordination team at the NSW Reconstruction Authority.
This is a pivotal leadership opportunity to guide a high-performing team responsible for the assessment and administration of funding under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA). The role plays a critical part in delivering support to disaster-affected communities by ensuring timely, compliant, and transparent management of funding applications and claims.
About the Role
As Manager, you will oversee the formal assessment and processing of Category B funding applications, including Essential Public Asset Reconstruction (EPAR), Emergency Works (EW) and Immediate Reconstruction Works (IRW). You’ll lead a team of assessment officers, ensuring submissions are evaluated against DRFA eligibility criteria and that claims are reviewed, endorsed and administered in line with government policy.
This role requires a focus on compliance, audit readiness, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to drive best-practice funding governance across disaster reconstruction programs.
We are seeking an experienced professional with:
-
Qualifications or significant experience in engineering, quantity surveying, disaster management, or a related field, providing deeper expertise in disaster recovery and infrastructure funding frameworks.
-
Specific experience working with DRFA processes, particularly Category B funding, or similar government funding programs in a disaster recovery context, with a focus on infrastructure-related claims.
-
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing policies or guidelines related to funding, claims, or infrastructure reconstruction, particularly in disaster recovery or government projects.
-
Strong background in managing risk and ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations, particularly in high-stakes, audit-sensitive environments.
-
Experience engaging with high-level government stakeholders, such as financial teams, auditors, and oversight bodies, to ensure efficient and compliant delivery of funding programs.
