Primary objective
The Marketing Technology Manager will oversee and manage Tourism NT’s marketing technologies, ensuring high return-on-investment
and enabling optimal use of data and technology to drive media effectiveness and deliver strategies that meet marketing and business
objectives.
Context statement
The Digital Marketing and Data Services team at Tourism NT has a mission to maintain and provide the most advanced and useful digital
marketing infrastructure to meet operational and strategic objectives, whilst delivering expertise in digital and data strategy, excellence in
service delivery and compliance with cyber security and data protection regulations.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide strategic direction on Tourism NT’s marketing technologies, monitoring their functionality and performance against key
indicators and return on investment and advising of new technologies and practices to ensure Tourism NT is delivering excellence.
2. Drive and implement Tourism NT’s first-party data strategy, including managing data partnerships, working closely with key internal
and external stakeholders.
3. Deliver actionable insights and sophistication in web analytics, data integration, API development, attribution modelling, audience
targeting and segmentation.
4. Manage and implement data governance policies and procedures utilising the most up-to-date data privacy regulations aligned with
that of the Northern Territory Government and national and global legislation.
5. Lead the development and implementation of Tourism NT’s customer data platform and marketing automation platform, for EDM
delivery, and identify new opportunities to leverage the technologies.
6. Create a marketing-led customer data and analytics strategy to provide a single view of audiences across channels.
7. Procurement and contract management of small to large technology platform contracts
8. Manage and lead by demonstrating excellence in communication, motivation, management of conflicting priorities and problem
solving.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
2. Skills in and an in-depth technical and strategic knowledge of marketing automation platforms, customer data platforms, data analytics
platforms, data storage solutions, tag management systems, demand-side platforms, server-side platforms and data integration
solutions.
3. Experience in data governance and management, with knowledge of national and international data privacy laws and regulations.
4. Leadership and people management skills.
5. Experience in developing and delivering digital marketing or digital technology strategic programs
6. Ability to manage budgets, timelines and the completion of projects against key performance indicators and business objectives.
7. Experience in on-boarding new technology platforms, working closely with implementation partners and ensuring a seamless process
with minimal downtime and high adoption rates.
8. Ability to leverage data and technology to drive optimisation, measure return on investment, and enhance media and marketing
effectiveness.
9. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and form close-working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
at all levels.
Desirable
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Economics, Business, Marketing or other quantitative discipline.
2. Experience working in media and/or digital marketing agencies in the performance, technology and development space is desirable.
