About the role:
The Participant Support Officer plays a vital role in supporting individuals enrolled in the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program by fostering sustained engagement in their training pathways. Through proactive outreach, collaboration with educators and coordinators, and tailored support services, the PSO helps participants overcome barriers to learning, access additional resources, and transition into further education or employment opportunities. The role ensures participants are well-informed, supported, and empowered to achieve their educational and career goals, while maintaining compliance with program and organisational standards.
To be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following key selection criteria:
- Minimum of Certificate III in Community Services or similar field; and/or At least 3 years’ experience in a client support or customer service role
- High level cross-cultural communication skills with the ability to support people with limited English skills to maintain their training pathway plan
- Highly developed engagement skills with a demonstrated capacity to engage/re-engage clients in Education and training programs
- High level IT skills including the ability to use online platforms to update, maintain and interpret accurate client records
- Proficient in Client Management Systems (e.g. STRATA, Markbook), MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Teams
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem solve and to engage clients
- Possess strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a busy environment
- Excellent spoken and written communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese will be highy regarded
- Incumbents will be expected to work across multiple sites as required
- It is a mandatory requirement for the position holder to have and maintain a current Working With Children Check (for employment purposes)
