About the Role
We are looking for a highly capable and collaborative Pipeline System Designer to join our agile delivery team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of business and technology—translating complex business needs into scalable, well-structured system designs. You’ll work closely with architects, product owners, and delivery teams to shape the technical direction of enterprise-scale solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design large and complex systems using appropriate methods and tools (Agile or plan-driven).
Conduct impact analysis on major design options and trade-offs, and make recommendations.
Ensure system designs balance functional and non-functional requirements.
Collaborate with architects to align designs with enterprise architecture standards.
Review and improve system designs to ensure integration, performance, and maintainability.
Contribute to the development of design policies, standards, and architecture components
Translate business requirements into epics, features, and user stories for agile delivery teams.
Core Competencies
Business Analysis & Requirements Definition: Ability to engage stakeholders, elicit requirements, and document them clearly in BRDs and user stories.
SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework): Strong understanding of SAFe roles, ceremonies, and artefacts including PI Planning, ARTs, Epics, and Features.
System and Solution Design: Experience bridging business needs and technical implementation, working closely with architects and developers.
Technical & Tooling Skills
Agile Project Management Tools: Proficiency with Jira, Azure DevOps (ADO), or similar tools.
Diagramming & Modelling: Skilled in creating process flows, data models, and system diagrams using Visio, Lucidchart, or similar.
Basic Architectural Understanding: Familiarity with APIs, microservices, integration patterns, and database design.
Soft Skills
Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal skills to manage expectations and build trust across business and technical teams.
Collaboration & Facilitation: Confident in leading workshops, sprint planning, and design sessions.
Excellent Communication: Able to convey complex ideas clearly in both written and verbal formats.
Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and propose practical solutions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Agile certifications such as SAFe Agilist, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or equivalent are highly desirable.
