The Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) is responsible for the supervision of children and young people in the Victorian criminal justice system. Youth Justice is responsible for overseeing services within custody and the community that respond to children and young people in the system, and for delivering strategic outcomes to address youth crime and reduce offending.

Reporting to the Manager, Priority Projects, this role is responsible for working with cross-departmental counterparts to deliver on critical Youth Justice reforms, including driving policy and project work to support the Council on Bail, Rehabilitation and Accountability (COBRA), along with other priority youth justice reforms.

The Opportunity

  • Fixed term, full-time position (2 years) based in Melbourne.
  • VPS Grade 4 role: $97,955 - $111,142 per year plus superannuation.
  • Support policy analysis and advice, including the identification of emerging issues, opportunities, risks and trends impacting on the achievement of complex and sensitive programs, initiatives and reforms.
  • Support the implementation of priority reforms to enable the successful delivery and completion of projects within quality, resourcing and timeline parameters.

To be successful in this role you will have experience or knowledge in project and/or policy design or implementation.

You will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check, which you will need to maintain for the period of employment.
