Preferred locations are Sydney or Newcastle, although there is the potential for this role to be based in other parts of NSW as well. The Role
As Practice Leader – Ecology, you will lead our talented ecology team, delivering meaningful environmental outcomes for clients while guiding the team’s strategic and commercial growth.
This is a hands-on role, where you will:
- Lead, mentor and inspire a team of ecological professionals
- Develop and implement business development and growth strategies
- Drive delivery of significant projects and multidisciplinary programs
- Provide high-level ecological expertise, reporting, and advisory support
- Engage with clients, regulators and community stakeholders to communicate science and deliver value
- Collaborate across RPS teams to capitalise on inter-disciplinary opportunities

What You’ll Bring
- We are seeking a respected technical leader with:
- A degree in ecology, environmental science or a related discipline
- A minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience in ecological consulting, project delivery and team leadership
- Proven experience in managing technical projects and professional services teams
- Strong commercial acumen, with a track record in business development and client engagement
- Ability to navigate complexity, solve problems and deliver innovative, commercially viable solutions
