- Your contribution and key responsibilities
- Support the administration of annual grant funding rounds including preparing documentation, eligibility checking, supporting assessment and approval processes, preparing reports, and managing tasks and processes within the department's grant management system.
- Establish, negotiate and manage contracts with funded organisations.
- Monitor delivery by funded organisations to ensure compliance with contracts, program guidelines, legislation and other departmental requirements.
- Support the management of the financial resources of the program area including assistance with the preparation of budget forecasts, payment processing and expenditure reconciliations.
- Develop positive relationships and engage with other state government departments, other levels of government, the non-government sector and key community stakeholders, to identify and respond to emerging issues, including preparing briefs and correspondence if required.
- Contribute positively to Multicultural Affairs Queensland's team environment by supporting strategic planning, development, communication and engagement functions, sharing knowledge and information and working both autonomously and collaboratively with colleagues.
- Assist in the development, implementation and reporting of strategic projects and initiatives that progress the Government's policy commitment to cultural diversity.
What we are looking for
- Experience supporting grant funding programs in government or community settings.
- Experience with Smartygrants or a similar grant management platform will be highly regarded.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow policies and processes that ensures tasks are completed to a high standard.
